Goodness, together
"...Discard your thirst for books, so that you won't die in bitterness, but in cheerfulness and truth, grateful to the gods from the bottom of your heart."
(Marcus Aurelius)
Stoicism is an ancient philosophy about living excellently - not according to our fears and delusions, but by being willing to be in reality.
Despite its reputation, it was never meant to be a hardened intellectual philosophy.
When Stoicism is truly lived and embodied, it inspires us to our nobility and strength, AND towards softening hard shells and inner walls... to embracing the entire world as a friend. It takes us towards a harmony with life and an unshakeable inner integrity.
Somehow these days, it's easy to learn and speak Stoic words, but in actuality move away from this most fundamental thing.
Liberation means we're walking towards unconditional wellbeing, towards goodness, beauty, universal compassion, and towards serving Life.
We do this by turning towards what is truly helpful, wise, and sane. While seeing clearly and not aligning with our confusion, reactivity, and resentments.
Embodied Stoicism is meant as an invitation to learn how to put down the books and truly drink from the well of goodness. To truly turn towards what is helpful and wise in our lives.
Stoicism calls us into our best selves - our "share of divinity" - by empowering our own capacity to choose well despite the circumstance.
In these modern times, filled with division, distraction, and busyness, Stoicism offers a real blueprint for a life of wellbeing, goodness, and meaning.
